POULTRY & WATERFOWL SALE REPORT
The annual
autumn poultry and waterfowl sale went ahead as planned on Saturday
with a catalogue entry of nearly 600 lots of poultry
and waterfowl.
An
extremely large attendance of buyers and enthusiasts gathered and
bidding throughout was very brisk with prices reaching well in
advance of buyers' expectations.
The top
price of the day was £250 for a pair of Toulouse Utility
geese exhibited by GS Walling of Penrith. Following at £200
also from Mr Walling was two Toulouse Female Utility geese. Also
selling for £200 was a trio of
Emperor geese shown by W Robinson of Preston, Lancs.
Leading
the Poultry section at £130 was a trio of New Hampshire Reds
(2007) sold by JA Barnes of Scarisbrick, Lancs. Also reaching the £130
mark was a trio of Copper Blue Marans offered by S Calton of Galston,
Ayrshire.
