POULTRY & WATERFOWL SALE

Harrison & Hetherington Limited, Carlisle held their annual spring poultry and waterfowl sale on Saturday 24th March 2007 when they presented a catalogue entry of 50 lots of hatching eggs, 350 lots of poultry, 100 lots of waterfowl and 90 lots of equipment.

Once again a very large company of enthusiasts gathered and trade through was very strong.

Leading the sale at £200 was a quartet of rhode island reds exhibited by Stephen Tyson of Kells Whitehaven.

Following at £95 was a trio of welsummers shown by JR Raine of Alston.

A pair of new Hampshire reds sold next at £80 and were consingned by RH Earl of Hutton Roof, Penrith.

In the waterfowl section a pair of Toulouse geese sold to a top of £160 and were sold by M Leggate of Strathaven, Lanarkshire, whilst the duck classes reached up to £120 for two white call females offered by Louise Strawhorn of Johnstone Bridge, Lockerbie.
