Neptune is the high flyer at 14,000gns
Aberdeenshire breeder Willie Knox secured the leading price at the Solway & Tyne Texel Breeders Club show and sale. His homebred lamb ram, Haddo Neptune a group 1 son of Cowal Maverick and out of a Craighead Hercules sired mother, sold for 14,000gns. Earlier in the day Neptune won the Reserve Overall Championship. He was successfully purchased by Jennifer Lodge for her Heyworth Lodge flock at Moseley Grange based near Doncaster. Following at 12,000gns was the Overall Champion of the event, a lamb ram shown by Lanarkshire breeders Jim and Helen Clark along with their family. Garngour Nixon, a February born group 1 son of Tamnamoney Lynbrook and with his mother going back to Clynnog Joe Tex, he was bought by PA Cartman Hall of Scosthrop Farm, Skipton. Also selling for 12,000gns was a lamb ram consigned by local breeder Jim Sharratt of Rosgill, Penrith. Combs Valley Nistleroy, a March born Glenside Minstrel sired son and out of a Greenwood Invincible bred mother, he now travels north for G Morrison of Inchbruich Farm at Banff. Also selling up to the five figure price tag was the first lamb from the Doughanhill Farms pen. Douganhill Monarch, a son of the renowned Glenside King II stock ram and out of a Hull House Hanky Panky bred mother, he sold for 10,000gns going jointly to Karen Wight of Midlock, Biggar and GA Gibson & Co of Galston, Ayrshire.
