Paul Harrison’s Brafferton Starbuster 8 sold to N & J Newbould & Son, Dalbeattie, for 3200gns; and close behind, David Irving’s Enterprise Joseph sold for 3100 gns to P A Simpson, Cutcloy, Whithorn, Newton Stewart.

The breed champion of the show, judged by Richard Wright of Oxey Farm, Leicestershire, was David Irving’s 7 yr old cow, Enterprise Jonquil, who sold with her bull calf for 2000gns, to McNeill Estate Carseriggan, Newton Stewart.

Prices held up very well with strong demand for females, and particularly for a good bunch of yearling heifers forward from Mr & Mrs Hetherington from Hexham, which sold for an average 765gns.
