CHAROLAIS SELL UP TO 2,200gns At the summer sale of Charolais cattle on Friday 15th June 2007, a 16 month old bull shown by Dumfriesshire breeders, Swalesmoor Charolais, sold for the top price of 2,200gns. Bassett Boston, a Thrunton Troubadore son bred from a Barleyfields Leonard sired mother, was sold to J Wardlaw & Son of Balerno, Mid Lothian. Topping the female entries was a fourth calved cow with her bull calf shown by Mr J & Mrs T Holliday of Hunsonby, Penrith. Edenhurst Rose a July 2000 born daughter of the renowned Dingle Hofmeister and out of a Cockerington Baron sired mother, she sold along with her January born calf at foot. The outfit was purchased by J Duff & sons of Kirkbride. Averages: |
