FIRM TRADE FOR CREOCH HERD

A crowd of serious buyers gathered at Borderway Mart for the Dispersal of the Creoch Herd of Holsteins from Messrs J Sloan, Little Creoch, Cumnock.

Trade was firm throughout the sale with several animals breaking through the 1000gns barrier.

Top price of the day was a well balanced, young cow, fresh in her 2nd lactation; Creoch Stormatic Jan VG87, was purchased for 1650gns by Messrs Young, Straid Farm, Cumnock.

Second top price was paid for the first cow sold; Creoch Principal Winnie purchased for 1400gns by Messrs Sloan, Ryemuir Farm, Lochmaben.

Next in the leading prices was Creoch Coni Mystic, a recently fresh 2nd calver, purchased for 1,300gns by Mr J&M Prentice, Blackwood Farm.

Also purchased for 1,300gns was Creoch Kenrik Petula, giving 43kgs in her 3rd lactation she will join the herd of Messrs CD&CA Somerville, Braehill Farm.
