The Border and Lakeland monthly Show and Sale took place at Borderway Mart, on the 21st March 2007. The show was judged by Steve Hill from the “Hydaways” herd in Staffordshire, placing some tremendous uddered cows and heifers in milk from leading breeders in the North of England and Scotland.
Top price and Champion went to Skirwith Hall Farms for Stowbeck Gelpro Connie this awesome uddered individual sold recently fresh in her 2nd lactation giving 47 kgs. She now joins the herd of Messrs Innes, Drumduan Farm, Nairn. Reserve Champion also went to Skirwith Hall Farms for Stowbeck Modesto Mabel, this heifer also possessed the same high qualities as the Champion cow selling for 1,850gns to the same buyer. Sue

Averages Spring sale of Pedigree Holstein & British Friesian Bulls The 4th Border and Lakeland Spring Bull Show and Sale took place at Borderway Mart on the 21st March 2007. On offer was a mouth watering display of high type, high quality bulls, from the Holstein Breeds most prolific breeding cow families. There were bulls for all sectors of the dairy industry for large commercial dairies and breeders alike. The show was professionally judged by Steve Hill from the “Hydaways” Herd in Staffordshire.
Top price and Champion of the day went to a Durham son from the Elegance family consigned by Mr J Brewster, Boclair Farm, Glasgow. This awesome young sire’s maternal sister sold for 11,000gns at the 2005 Black and White Sale. Boclair Epic sold for 6,000gns to joint buyers Firm of R Black, Craighouse, Corrie, Lockerbie and Messrs Reid, Bengall Farms, Lockerbie.
Reserve Champion went to James Currie & Son, this young sire was sired by number one Canadian type sire Terrick Reggie from the heart of the Amanda family with the first three dams averaging 95 points. This young bull sold to an undisclosed buyer for 2,000gns. Selling for 4,000gns was the pick of the British Fresians from the famous Blackisle herd, in Ross-shire. This Gornal Pegasus son from the heart of the Laura family at Blackisle, now joins RS & WA Howarth, Hollies Farm, North Yorkshire. Winnoch Union Jack sired by Ocean-View Zenith who was also the sire of the top priced bull in September, sold for 3,500gns to Messrs McJannet, East Enoch, Maybole. This bull was consigned by I. Brocket, Park O’Barnaigh, Kilbarchan, and from the famous Winnoch Penguin family. The Annandale Herd consigned a tremendous group of strong dairy bulls from leading families, top price from Annandale selling to Messrs Gregory for 3,000gns. Leading Prices
