Middleton in Teesdale Prize Show and Sale of Breeding Cattle

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual Prize show and sale of 294 Beef Breeding Cattle.

Keen interest was shown for quality cattle resulting in the following averages:-
Cows with Calves at foot averaged £697.20 (-£114.10)
Heifers with Calves at foot averaged £1,004.06 (-£43.21)
In Calf Cows averaged £370 (-£58.64)
In Calf Heifers averaged £763.11 (-£189.09)

The show was well supported with numerous outfits presented to the judges Mrs R Stevenson and Mr L Hird, Howgill Foot, who made the following awards kindly sponsored by Norman Simpson Fuels

1st K D Harryman, Keskerdale - £2,300 to J & J C White
2nd J S & O Dodd, West View – £1,220 to A J & F M Harrison
3rd T W Denham, Dent Gate - £1220 to Messrs Short
