Newcastleton Suckled Calves & Store Cattle

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Newcastleton Mart held their Special Spring Sale of suckled calves and store cattle. An entry of 102 cattle passed through the ring with an excellent turn out of buyers both Scottish and English travelled. Trade was exceptional for a fantastic run of cattle presented. The sale was seen to be a great success.

Leading bullock prices:- Charolais, £600, £445 (x2), £430, £422, £402 Underburnmouth. Simmental, £545 (x2), £515 (x2), £485 (x3) Bankhead. Limousin, £468, £432, £390 (x2) Leahaugh, £402, £400 Underburnmouth.

Leading heifer prices:- Charolais, £555, £500 (x6), £490 (x2), £480 (x2) Longrow Farm. Blonde, £490, £480, £438 Longrow Farm, £300 (x2) Hole O Lyne. Limousin, £490, £400 Longrow Farm, £412 Douglas Square, £310 Underburnmouth. Simmental, £440, £410 Bankhead. Belgian Blue, £440 Longrow Farm.
