The annual Show & Sale on behalf of the Vendeen Sheep Society was held on Friday 11th August 2006.

Champion Ram

Leading the sale at 650gns was a shearling ram from Northumberland breeders R.N. Howie and Partners, of the Lyham Flock. Lyham Edu, a group 2 January born twin, is sired by the flock’s French AI stud ram. Edu caught the eye of Warwickshire breeder Charles Vernon-Miller to join his Blackwell Flock.

The next leading price of 580gns also came from the Lyham Flock of Messrs. Howie. Lyham Einstein already has a show record to his credit from being first prize shearling ram at this year’s Royal Show along with the first prize ticket and Male Champion and Reserve Champion at The Great Yorkshire Show 2006. This group 2 ram was successfully purchased by Cheshire breeder R.A. Davenport of Sandbach.

Champion Female

Selling for 450gns was another shearling ram this time shown by Charles Vernon-Miller of the Blackwell Flock based at Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire. Blackwell Elagant Air is a group 1 geno-type ram and sired by another French AI line. He was purchased by Yorkshire enthusiast G.P. & J.A. Pannett & Brisby, of Strensall.
