A top price of 4000gns was realised at The Solway & Tyne Texel Breeders Club Show & Sale at Carlisle on Saturday 23rd September 2006.

A ram lamb consigned by John Forsyth of the Glenside Flock based at Maybole, Ayrshire, sold for the leading price of 4000gns. Glenside Malibu a group 1 February born lamb and son of Castlecairn Keltic Star whose mother is a daughter of Claybury Invader, sold to Northern Ireland breeder Austin Shaw, of County Antrim.

Following at 3200gns was a 3 shear ram shown by Austin Shaw of the Fairmount Flock, Northern Ireland. Brague Jethro a February 2003 born son of Brague Inspiration caught the eye of many enthusiasts because of his sheer scope but after keen bidding was knocked down to the joint purchase of Messrs. Wilkinson, of Aspatria, Carlisle, Messrs. Dunlop, Searigg, near Dumfries, and Messrs. Miller of Old Walls at Lockerbie.

Joint top price of 1000gns in the female section went to husband and wife team of Alex and Gemma Brown for shearling gimmers. The first came from Alex’s Stonefieldhill Flock, for a group 2 March born gimmer sired by Cowal Keepsake and with his mother going back to Claircot First Foot, she was knocked down to Northumberland breeders J. Walton & Son of Roseden Farm, Alnwick.

The second 1000gns gimmer came from Gemma’s Brookhill Flock which was the first entry of her consignment into the ring. This daughter of Stonefield Keepsake and her mother going back to Stonefieldhill Incredible, she was sold to Neil Crighton of Berwick upon Tweed.
