On the opening day of the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘D’ District Ram sales at St Johns Chapel Mart on Monday 9th October 2006, an entry of 46 Aged Rams averaged £296.20 an increase of £22.60 on the year.

2nd – J Nattrass, Shield Hill Top - £60 to S & K Emmott
3rd – W Watson, Sanders Close - £320 to T S Macdonald
4th – M E Bell, Cronkley - £700 to S & K Emmott
5th - K Smith & Son, East Greenridge - £300 to M E & M Oxley

Small Breeders Aged Ram:
1st – A Peart & Son, Woodcroft - £250 to J F & F Hutchinson

Two Shear Ram:
1st & Reserve Champion – I Collinson, Billingshield – Not sold
2nd – W & E Reed & Son, The Knarr - £300 to T D & M Moore
3rd – L Smith & Co, Roachburn - £50 to M E & M Oxley
4th – J L Wilkinson & Son, Bollihopeshield – Not sold
