New Breed record Price of 15,000gns at Carlisle Annual Lleyn Show & Sale.

Group 1 shearling ram from Dai & Cynthia Morris of Yr Ostrey, St Clears, Carmarthen was jointly purchased by Edward Pugh, Glanllyn Farm, Llanuwchllyn N.Wales and AG Morton, Bank Hall, Kirkland, Penrith.

Reserve Champion Ram came from JA&R Geldard, Low Foulshaw Farm, Levens later selling for 800gns to JE Stables & Sons, Greaves Farm, Grange Over Sands and RI Dixon, Low Newton Farm, Grange Over Sands.

The record breaking priced shearling ram which sold for 15,000gns for Professor Dai Morris and his wife Cynthia's 75 ewe flock at Yr Ostrey, St Clears, Carmarthen. Former Welsh Agricultural College principal Professor Morris, who has reduced his flock numbers from 1,000 ewes, had a pen of five ewe lambs sold at the same time in a different ring at the mart for the shared top ewe lamb price of £85. The ram was bought jointly by the pre-sale judge John Morton, of Kirkland, Penrith and Edward Pugh, of Bala, North Wales.
