A joint top price of 750gns was attained at the Annual Bleu du Maine Show & Sale held at Borderwayon Friday 11th August 2006.

Calla Convincer from William Baillie took the top price in the Bleu du Maine sale at Borderway, making 750gns.

Lanarkshire breeder Mr. William Baillie of the Calla Herd based at Biggar, secured the two top leading prices of 750gns for two shearling rams. First into the ring was Calla Convincer a group 1 February born ram sired by Aintree Bernard and out of a Goldies Victory sired mother. His mother was a 1st prize ewe at The Royal Highland Show 2006. He was successfully purchased by A.R. Bell of Kirkton, Hawick.

Next shearling into the ring was a group 2 twin born ram Calla Captain. Sired by Goldies Victory his mother this time goes back to Grahams Pathfinder, he caught the eye of another Borders enthusiast, W. & B. Nichol of Lawston, Newcastleton.

Northumberland breeders J.W. & K.M. Davison sold the next two leading prices for shearing rams at 700gns. The first of the entries Langley Caveman an April born single ram sired by Maunby Butch, caught the eye of J. Lee & Sons of Agars Hill, Hexham. The second entry from Messrs. Davison was Langley Castle a group 1 born triplet another son of Butch and he sold to R. Johnson of Danby, Wiske of Northallerton.
