Border & Lakeland Holstein Club Show & Sale

Another gradual increase in the dairy trade at Borderway for the October Border & Lakeland Club Sale on Wednesday 18th October 2006. Ten animals realised over 1,500gns up to a top of 2,000gns to average £1239.86.

The show was judged by David Mutton, Barrow In Furness of Billincoat Holsteins. The champion tapped forward, Wormanby Jordan Grey, was consigned by H&M Hodgson, Wormanby, Burgh By Sands. This Roylane Jordan heifer was purchased by TA & E Jackson, Guillyhill, Holywood for 1,450gns.

The Reserve Champion, consigned by JD Baillie, Larkhall, Lanarkshire sold for 1800gns, the second top price of the day. Dalserf Mystic 16 by Netherside Hudson, a freshly calved heifer sold to also to Guillyhill Holsteins of TA & E Jackson, Guillyhill, Holywood.

The top price of the day was 2,000gns for Kepculloch Lheros Ruby consigned by R Steel & Son, Kepculloch, Balfron, Glasgow. Sired by Comestar Lheros and out of the 10,791kgs 4.57% 3.07% Kepculloch Integrity Ruby 2 EX90 back to Bricknell, this freshly calved heifer joins the Grange Hall herd of Mesrs Lawrie, Lanark.

Muir Holsteins of W&A Watson, Mauchline, Ayrshire consigned Muir Journalist Nettie. This really stylish Journalist daughter from a VG87 Rudolph was snapped up by Isaac Lancaster, Horton Grange, Skipton for 1,800gns.

A young cow, just freshly calved into her second lactation-realised 1,550gns for J Bryson & Son, Lesmaghow, Lanark. TA & E Jackson, Guillyhill, Holywood purchased this Ricecrest Carlos daughter.
