An increase of almost 10% was the apparent trade at the Border & Lakeland Club Sale on Wednesday 13th September 2006 at Borderway. A large crowd gathered to see the uniquely diverse range of quality fresh dairy cattle sell through the ring.

The show was judged by Richard Graham, Hethersgill Holsteins, Carlisle. The Champion tapped forward was awarded to first time consignor John Jamieson, Wood Head, Annan. Annan Bruce Maschio, an uncatalogued late entry was 1st Heifer in milk and Champion overall. Sired by Annan Bruce and out of a 12,557kgs 4.35% Igniter Dam, this recently freshly calved heifer was sold to A&D&N&S Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost.

Snow Dusky 9, consigned by G&M Wilson, Low Field Farm, Appleby, brought the top price of the day of 1,750gns. This Outside heifer joins the Burtholme Herd of A&D&N&S Sanderson, Lanercost. Going to the same herd was the Reserve Champion, Boustead Wa Del Mab, consigned by Martin & Julie Gaitskell. This was also a recently calved heifer sired by Wa-Del Convincer.

Lanarkshire breeder, JD Baillie, Dalserf Holsteins averaged 1,296gns for five freshly calved heifers. The leading price of these being 1680gns for a Lucente daughter out of VG86 Addison from the Dalserf Irene family. She also sold to A&D&N&S Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost.

Second prize winner Stowbeck Inquirer Lilibet, consigned by Skirwith Hall Farms, also sold to A&D&N&S Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost for 1550gns.
