The dispersal of the youngstock selection of the well known Meikle Laught herd of pedigree Ayrshires sold through the ring at Borderway on Wednesday 23rd August 2006. William and Muriel Parker from Saltcoates in Ayrshire presented their stylish young stock in front of many of the pedigree Ayrshire fraternity from all over the country. Breeders and agents purchased twenty cattle for Northern Ireland.

Meikle Laught Lass 21

The top price was for Meikle Laught Lass 21. This tall stylish heifer, bred from three generations of Very Good cows and by Meikle Laught Victory Crown was sold for 1,250gns to Northern Ireland breeder, Mr John Kennedy, Downpatrick.

Meikle Laught Myra 12, also sired by Meikle Laught Victory Crown, realised 1,200gns. A&S Lawrie, Cuthill Towers, Kinross took home his superb heifer which was maternal sister to Meikle Laught Fieldsman, sire of twenty six lots in the sale.

The Swaites herd snapped up Meikle Laught Myra 14. Also from the same family as Myra 12, this Brieryside Golden Sand daughter was bred from three generations of VG cows.
