The Loughdale Dispersal Sale at Borderway Mart on Wednesday 2nd August attracted buyers from the South of England to the very North of Scotland and Northern Ireland. This recently established herd consisted of some very attractive young individuals along with a great selection of sound milking cattle.

Top price of the day was Ridgefield Storm Vanessa PI VG87 of 3,800gns from the Aquila Cleitus Vanessa PI EX90 family. Raising the profile of the Ravara Herd was top Northern Ireland breeders, Ivan & Louise Robinson, Ravara Road, Ballygowan, Northern Ireland. A fifth generation of EX or VG, this Storm daughter sold heavily in calf. Also joining the Ravara herd is a very stylish Loughdale Gibson Rosie for 2,900gns. Watch for her in the showring.

Second top price was Ridgefield Gibson Lisa VG88 from the famous Sunnylodge Prelude Spottie VG87 family.
Mesr C Innes & Sons, Drumduan Farm, Nairn snapped up this Gibson of 9 generations of EX or VG cows for 3,700gns. She sold dry and is due in October to Threelimes April Stormy. Her open Talent daughter sold for 1800gns to Scawfell Holsteins of Pete Sherwen, Gosforth, Cumbria.

Very Good 86 2 Year Old, Loughdale Gibson Florie VG86, heads North of Scotland to the Notwen herd of GF Macarthur & Co, Newton of Darnaway, Forres for 2,400gns. Loughdale Gibson Solario and Loughdale Igniter Angel sold for 2000gns and 1950gns respectively to the Notwen Herd, Inverness also.
