Pedigree Dairy Day Show & Sale of Trade remained strong for the limited supply of fresh dairy heifers and cows at the Border & Lakeland Club Sale on Wednesday 14th June 2006, at Carlisle. The judge for the show was Brian Kerr, Helenton Mains, Symington, Ayrshire.
The Champion and leading price of the day was Designer Indro Queen 53 consigned by R&E Butterfield. Sired by Rigilo Juror Indro and out of the 12,217kgs Radleygreen Raider Queen 31 VG86, she was sold to an undisclosed buyer from Northern Ireland.
The Reserve Champion was awarded to Nethervale Jordan Lanetta PI consigned by Wm Scott & Co, Largs, Ayrshire. This recently calved heifer sold to Mark Falshaw Trading, Kelber Hill Farm, Gargrave. Painley Geno Debbie PI 6 realised the second top price of the sale of 1,420gns. Bred by J&V Barlow and consigned by H&M Hodgson, this Geno daughter sold to A&DM &CE &S Sanderson, Burtholme, Lanercost. The Carrock herd of Messrs Brough, Buckabank claimed Gerrard Cousteau Buttergirl 17 for 1,350gns. Consigned by RH Carter & Son, Gerrrard House, Wigton, this heifer was bred from the well-known Buttergirl family from Ingleview. Leading Prices
