Alston Moor & Lazonby Sale of Ewes

Harrison & Hetherington held their Annual sale of 3,507 Swaledale draught ewes, shearlings & ewe lambs.  On a wonderful autumn day stock was present in fantastic bloom.  A great turnout of buyers were forward resulting in all types of stock being well bid for and averages well up on the previous year.

Crossed £33.19 with a top of £44
Shearlings £56 with a top of £68
Ewe Lambs £36.50 with a top of £46

A compliment must also go to M/s. R & B Smith, Parson Shield, Alston for having their sheep looking well on the dispersal sale of their entire flock of Swaledale ewes.  And a credit that they top the sale with a pen of 1 crop ewes at £77 and purchased by Mr Smith-Jackson, Hightown, Haltwhistle.
