“LATTER FAIR” GREYFACED EWE LAMBS
On Thursday 14th September 2006 Harrison & Hetherington,
Carlisle conducted their noted annual Latter Fair show and sale of Greyface
ewe lambs when they presented 8240 head.

A pre sale show was kindly sponsored by Capontree Veterinary groups,
I’Ansons
feeds and Dallas Keith Feed supplements. There were fifteen excellent pens of
lambs put in front of our judges for the day Mr B Ridsdale and Mr I Turvey. The
Champion pen was awarded to M/s Smith – Jackson of Hightown, Haltwhistle
and Reserve Champion to Messrs James of Midtodhills, Roadhead. The Champions
were later sold for £175 and purchased by Mr Robert Carter of Parcelstown,
Longtown. Reserve Champion penwas sold for £120 and purchased by Miss Marie
Faulder of Ewan Vlose, Armathawite. The sale trade was very good with a massive
ring of buyers both local and distant, packing the ring side all day. An overall
sale average of £60.18 (-£4.84) was obtained.
