BORDERWAY STORE & BREEDING SHEEP SALE REPORT

On Monday 8th May 2006 at Borderway Mart, Harrison & Hetherington held their annual May show and sale of 2502 ewes and lambs. A nice show of sheep were presented and with bidders forward in good spirits, trade was fantastic with vendors leaving in a happy mood.

Champion Texel hoggs with Beltex lambs

The pre sale show sponsored by JJ Scott (Minerals) was very well judged by Mr Tom Mounsey, High Rigg, Walton he awarded the Championship to Mr James Whiteford, Tercrosset Farm, West Hall for his Texel hoggs with Beltex lambs they later sold for £62 per life to George Gate, Hollins Farm, Cockermouth.

The Champion pen Mule hoggs and lambs went to Messrs Sowerby of Terrys Farm, Ormside they sold at £58 per life to Messrs Wetherell of Low Buildings.
