Lazonby Store Sheep

On Wednesday 18th November Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held its final sale of store & breeding sheep in Lazonby Mart for the year. Due to the upsurge in fat trade a packed ringside gathered with all classes of sheep keenly bid for, thus resulting in the trade of the season and a fitting way to end the 2009 sale calendar which has seen Lazonby back in the spotlight and leading sheep averages both locally and nationally. Lockerbie Store Cattle

On Tuesday 17th November Harrison & Hetherington, Lockerbie held their fortnightly sale of store cattle. With 198 head forward for sale a top price of £1020 was achieved for a Limousin bullock from M/s Ewart & Son of Belridding, top price per kilo was also for a Limousin bullock this time from M/s JI Cartner & Son of Clerkhill. Rundales Tops Unhaltered Limousin Females At 2,800gns

The annual sale of Unhaltered Limousin females held at Carlisle on Friday 13th November 2009 met with a solid trade and a 95% clearance of the 40 animals for sale. [report]

 

Borderway Beef Breeding Cattle

On Friday, 13th November Harrison & Hetherington held their sale of breeding cattle. A mixed show of cattle was presented to a strong ringside of buyers meaning trade was good throughout. [report]

 

Borderway Simmental Cattle

simmentalA virtual clearance was achieved at the annual autumn show and sale of Simmental cattle at Borderway on Friday 13th November, with only one bull and one female being unsold and an impressive average of £3054 being attained for the attractive offering of bulls sold. Topping the sale at 5,500gns was Midhope Winston, the sole entry shown by WJ Hollingsworth of Midhope Hall Farm, Sheffield. [report]

 

Borderway Hereford Cattle

HerefordThe annual autumn show and sale of Hereford cattle at Carlisle on Friday 13th November 2009 saw the mixed quality show of bulls being difficult to sell and all females on offer finding new homes. [report]
