On
Thursday 26th January at Borderway, Harrison and Hetherington held a
sale of Implements, tractors and small tools. A large show was presented
to a huge attendance of buyers, with an increased number of prospective
Irish purchasers. [report]
Once again it was a cracking sale
at Carlisle as some of the best female Bluefaced Leicesters went under
the hammer. A bumper crowd saw a bumper trade with averages rising across
the ewes and gimmer section. [report]
The dispersal of the Knockenjig flock of unregistered Suffolk sheep belonging to David Dickie of Sanquhar was held at Carlisle on Monday 23rd January. All classes of sheep were well presented and attracted strong interest from buyers and as a result prices were buoyant throughout. [report]
On Friday 20th January Harrison & Hetherington held their January sale of Beef Breeding cattle. A great show of heifers with calves and heifers in calf with a massive ring side of buyers ensuring the dearest trade ever seen. [report]
The
ringside was packed and buzzing with enthusiasm, as judge, Ernie Hemmings,
Nailsworth, Gloustershire, stepped into the ring, at the British Blue
Cattle Society’s January Show & Sale
