Continental Store Sale Attracts Show Potentials

Harrison & Hetherington’s two-day show and sale at Borderway, on March 19th and 20th is expected once again to draw one of the biggest entries of quality continental cross store cattle in the country, many with show potential. Entries in 2009 topped 2,500, with 1,250 heifers on the first day of the sale and 1300 steers on the second day, attracting buyers - including those looking for cattle with show potential - from all over the country. Blonde Cattle

Durham breeders Peter and James Weightman of the Hallfield herd based at Peterlee secured the leading price of 7,000gns at the early spring show and sale for the Blonde Society at Carlisle on Friday 5th March. [report]

catThe first instalment of the Holywood Holstein Dispersal of 250 recently calved and close to calving cows and heifers was held in Borderway on Wednesday 3rd March.
